Hi! Thanks for dropping by
Melissa is an illustrator, graphic designer and art tutor based in the Cotswolds.
She has illustrated covers for a major nationwide book series, three non-fiction books and has worked on numerous projects in both the public and private sectors.
Her graphic design work has seen her work in hospitality, education and new business start ups.
Melissa runs art classes for both adults and children and is the co-host of Drink and Draw Gloucestershire, art sessions for adults with a party atmosphere.
I like an interesting journey and took a few different paths to get to where I am today. I studied animation at university and absolutely loved it. I favoured the more traditional processes of animation and would draw hundreds of pictures in order to get a few seconds of work. Drawing was where I was at my most happiest, so when I graduated I decided to focus on illustration and have never put my pens down.
My favourite thing about the graphic design work I've completed, is that each job is different. I have enjoyed working with people in an incredible variety of different sectors. I love getting to know people, to find out what they do and how their businesses work. I enjoy working collaboratively with clients so that together we can find out what makes them and their business unique, then figuring out how we can shout about it.
I have been running art classes for over ten years now. I love giving people a space to draw, regardless of their ability, to help them explore their creativity and socialise. From adult drawing courses where I encourage people to stop and take time for themselves, to the high-spirited 'Scribble Squad', a lively and energetic drawing club for school aged children in the form of after school clubs and parties. This year I teamed up with my good friend Stella Ashmeade and together we deliver 'Drink and Draw' events for adults. Drawing sessions with a party atmosphere. The feedback I've received from delivering these courses and sessions has been overwhelmingly positive.
I live with my husband and our two daughters. We love running down hills and having kitchen discos.
