Hi! Thanks for dropping by

Melissa is an illustrator, graphic designer and art tutor based in the Cotswolds.

She has illustrated covers for a major nationwide book series, three non-fiction books and has worked on numerous projects in both the public and private sectors.

Her graphic design work has seen her work in hospitality, education and new business start ups.

Illustration

I like an interesting journey and took a few different paths to get to where I am today. I studied animation at university and absolutely loved it. I favoured the more traditional processes of animation and would draw hundreds of pictures in order to get a few seconds of work.  Drawing was where I was at my most happiest, so when I graduated I decided to focus on illustration and have never put my pens down.

Graphic Design

My favourite thing about the graphic design work I've completed, is that each job is different.  I have enjoyed working with people in an incredible variety of different sectors.  I love getting to know people, to find out what they do and how their businesses work. I  enjoy working collaboratively with clients so that together we can find out what makes them and their business unique, then figuring out how we can shout about it.

Art Spaces

I have been running art classes for over ten years now. During the pandemic I worked to set up a collective called Art Spaces. The idea was to give people space to draw, learn how to be creative, meet people and become part of an artistic community. Delivered via a series of classes, from adult drawing courses to one on one sessions. Group sessions for new parents and carers to the high-spirited 'Scribble Squad' - a lively and energetic drawing club for school aged children in the form of after school clubs, workshops and parties. In hindsight, 2020 probably wasn’t the best year to start this venture! Though, it has made me more determined to deliver these classes, whether it’s online for now or in person at some point in the near future.  Creativity is proven to be beneficial for wellbeing and giving yourself the space to switch off and focus on creativity can be life changing.  The feedback I've received from delivering these courses and sessions has been overwhelmingly positive. I live with my husband and our two daughters.  We love running down hills and having Friday night discos.
